We stayed in Durango last weekend after Piper's Volley-Ball games in Mancos. Spent some time with Kenedy, went to dinner, and ran some errands. Beautiful fall weather!
Well, we finally did it. Made the big move from Denver, Colorado to somewhere else. We landed in Ridgway Colorado. Its in the southwest part of the state. At the foot of the San Juans. Small town, grand views, new people to meet, and new places to explore...

Labor Day - 2012
Labor Day in Ridgway means Rodeo. We caught the last half of the Parade, and then the Rodeo. Piper was hanging with friends on the fence and catching all of the action!

Gunny Gorge
I did a solo Gunny Gorge trip on Sunday. Wendy and Piper were heading to Grand Junction to do some back-to-school shopping and I thought "why don't you guys just drop me at the put in?" It turned out that I didn't remember how bad the road was and it was a time getting in there and then them driving out....ughh. Oh well, everything turned out ok, and I had a fantastic day in the Gorge. It was blue sky, crystal clear water, fish everywhere....and some darn fun rapids too! Just saw one guy at the put-in and 3 small groups at various camps, but no one on the river.

Ruby/Horsethief Canyon
A bunch of rafting families from Ridgway with middle-schoolers got on Ruby/Horsethief Canyon this past weekend. It was fairly hot, but we stayed cool by jumping in the water a lot. Hit a little wind the first day, but days 2 / 3 were beautiful.
The kids were having tons of fun!
3 lazy days on the river....

Escalante to Bridgeport
Wendy and I got away for an overnighter on the river alone. We did the Escalante to Bridgeport section of the Gunnison River. We put on at 6pm on Weds and rolled into camp about 7:30. It was beautiful, no wind, no rain, no people...
Family Values - Telluride
Piper and I went to Telluride to climb on the Falls Wall. We were heading for the multi-pitch route "Family Values". The weather was threatening, but held off just long enough for us to get the climb in...
Overnighter on the Upper Colorado
We caught up with Friends Ian, Val, Noel, Janine for an overnighter on the upper Colorado. It was a lot of fun. Piper was in the Ducky. We got a little rain, but overall the weather was great! A bunch of Eagles were buzzing around our camp too.
