Volleyball Season

Piper started Volleyball last week, and had some games last weekend. Go Demons!

I was passing through BV on my way to Denver and the water was still running on the Numbers. Great late season boating!

Mt. Sneffels

Piper and I climbed Mt. Sneffels yesterday. The peak is 14,150 feet. The hike/climb was 6 miles and 2,900' elevation gain. There were quite a few people in Yankee Boy Basin and on the trail. Great views from the summit!

Ice Lake

Wendy and I hiked up to Ice Lake on Sunday. Great trail with beautiful wildflowers and a few creek crossings. Ice Lake was incredible! One of the prettiest high mountain lakes we have seen.

California Trip

We went on our annual trip to California. Visited family in Laguna Beach, and Wendy's HS Reunion. Lots of beach time. We met our friends Ron & Jill at San Onofre surf beach. Our friend Alma from Ridgway stayed in Laguna with us.

The 2nd week we chartered a sailboat out of Marina del Rey and sailed to Catalina Mon - Thurs.

Climbing Courthouse Rock

My dad and I climbed the 12,152 foot Courthouse Rock today.  It was a short distance, but pretty steep and the views were definitely worth it.  It was very lush with several different kinds of wildflowers and mushrooms.  We saw a bunch of marmots and chipmunks up at the top and apparently there were three bears in the road ten minutes before we came.  Definitely a worth while hike!  ~Piper

Alpine Mine

Wendy and I hiked the Weehawken Trail to the Alpine Mine today. Got a late start and was worried about the weather. It did rain on us a little bit, and had some close lighting on the way down. Great hike, very pretty trail!
