My dad and I climbed the 12,152 foot Courthouse Rock today. It was a short distance, but pretty steep and the views were definitely worth it. It was very lush with several different kinds of wildflowers and mushrooms. We saw a bunch of marmots and chipmunks up at the top and apparently there were three bears in the road ten minutes before we came. Definitely a worth while hike! ~Piper
Well, we finally did it. Made the big move from Denver, Colorado to somewhere else. We landed in Ridgway Colorado. Its in the southwest part of the state. At the foot of the San Juans. Small town, grand views, new people to meet, and new places to explore...

Alpine Mine
Wendy and I hiked the Weehawken Trail to the Alpine Mine today. Got a late start and was worried about the weather. It did rain on us a little bit, and had some close lighting on the way down. Great hike, very pretty trail!

Town Run - Uncompahgre
I rented a Duckie on Saturday so Piper could run the river in our boat. This was her first run on her own. The weather was a little iffy. It hailed on us at the put-in. But we persevered and were rewarded with sunshine for most of the run. She did Awesome!! Wave trains & ear to ear grins......
Young Musicians Open Mic at Cups
Piper played at the Open Mic for Young Musicians on Friday. It started out on the fantastic back patio.....until the rain came. Then it moved inside for an acoustic session.

Here is a picture of Piper in the studio with her guitar teacher John Randolph. She usually has an hour lesson once a week.
